What began in 2003 as the award-winning Anderson Design Group calendar of nostalgic illustrations reflecting Nashville’s history and culture has evolved into the defining imagery of the world-renowned Nashville experience. We take pride in working with ADG and pairing the iconic Spirit of Nashville art with the very best production partners.

Spirit of Nashville Gifts is proud to be a locally owned & operated family business. Jim, our founding father (literally), has worked in the gift industry for more than 35 years and worn many hats. His experience in every role from Sales Rep to Strategic Marketing Manager has provided him the experience and know-how to effectively champion the city he loves to fellow residents and visitors alike. As a Nashville native and Vanderbilt Owen School alumna, wife Emmie brings hometown pride, finely-tuned marketing acumen, and 25 years experience in managing small businesses to the Spirit of Nashville team. As the former Executive Director of two Nashville environmental nonprofits, Emmie knows the value of protecting and preserving Nashville’s unique character.

Since 2019, the Thomas children have come on board to help the business grow and thrive. Ellen joined the business full-time to oversee our marketing & operations, bringing with her a decade of marketing experience, a flare for web design (do you like our revamped website?), and a keen eye for detail and organization. Jimmy started Spirit of Chattanooga in 2019 and sold it in 2023 after successfully establishing the business in a new market. Grant now joins the team to help with sales and custom product development. After beginning his career with Teach for America, Grant has spent the past 10 years in business development and account management, working in both the education nonprofit sector as well as managing Enterprise Customers for a Fortune 500 Technology Company.
